The Vision

Lemshaga Academy is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education. Our approach is to lay a solid foundation to create an attitude for life-long learning.

We see education as a continuum of integrating the classroom with the home and the community. Our children are the future and our most precious resource.

Lemshaga Academy’s philosophical approach to education is to recognize the uniquenesss that each and every child brings to their school. Honouring the individual student means that we recognize the different styles of learning that our children bring to the classroom.

The school was founded 1995 in a natural country environment about 25 km outside of Stockholm. It started in a barn with pigs, chickens, horses and goats. We have grown dramatically from that early vision, but we have stayed true to the vision of integrating the process of education with the family and the community. Now, computers at Lemshaga are as natural to the classroom as the pigs, chickens, horses and goats were to the original barn.

Our curriculum is an ongoing process, which results from investigating and participating in educational research. Since the start of the new Millennium, we are participating in on-going research projects with major universities around the world.
